I took part in my fifth annual Overseas Cycle Challenge in Monterey, California last year (2008). The event took place between the 3rd. and 13th. September and involved cycling 100k (62 miles) a day for five days. To view my journal and photos from the cycle, please click here.

In the past, I have taken part in the cycle challenges in Umhlanga Rocks, South Africa; Lake Balaton, Hungary; Flagstaff, Arizona and Niagara, Ontario. These five cycles enabled me to raise in excess of €50,000 for the Children's Medical and Research Foundation of Our Lady's Children's Hospital, Crumlin. To participate in last year's Challenge, each participant raised a minimum of €5,000 for the Foundation. I am now asking you to support my Cycle Across America in 2010 by clicking on one of the Donate buttons below.

The Cycle Across America takes place from 21st. June to 10th. August 2010 and entails cycling 3,690 miles from Astoria, Oregon to Portsmouth, New Hampshire in 50 days.

By taking part in this cycle, I hope to be the first Irish "Old Age Pensioner" to cycle across America; therby raising 250,000 euro for Our Lady's Children's Hospital, Crumlin.

Why not consider joining myself and the other participants on the 2009 cycle in Athens, Georgia, U.S.A. (There are usually between 80 and 100 participants.), or taking part in one of the Foundation's overseas walks or one of their many other fundraising events and raising money for a great cause. You will make many new friends and really enjoy yourself.
